On this day 9 years ago, Drake released “Take Care”, his 2nd studio album. Despite being leaked 9 days before it’s initial release, “Take Care” reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart & sold 631,000 units first week & has since gone 6x Certified Platinum. The album featured 7 singles “Marvin’s Room”, “Headlines”, “Make Me Proud”, “Take Care”, “HYFR” & “Crew Love” which would also help Drake win his first Grammy in 2013 for Best Rap Album although the musical content is R&B based. Take Care is regarded by many as Drake best album & has even been ranked 95th by Best Album of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine. When this album came out, I was going through a tough time in my life dealing with the loss of my Aunt to breast cancer, the song “Over My Dead Body” particularly helped me through those times.
