On this day 30 years ago, Brand Nubian released “One For All”, their debut studio album. Since it’s release One For All has had a lasting impact on Hip-Hop, dropping during a time when Gangsta Rap was just starting to take over the game. The album is filled with a slew of conscious & Pro-Black content that truly had message that we don’t hear as often as we should in our music these days. Grand Puba, Sadat X, Lord Jamar & DJ Alamo took the people on a journey or enlightenment through bars of the teachings of The Gods & Earths that made everybody tune in, gaining critical acclaim throughout the music industry as well as the streets. One For All featured 5 singles, “All For One”, “Slow Down”, “Wake Up”, “Brand Nubian” & “Feel So Good”, with the first 3 charting on Billboard’s Hot Rap Tracks chart in 1991.
