On this day 15 years ago, Chris Brown released his self titled debut album. Selling 154,000 first week, “Chris Brown” would debut at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart & would go certified double platinum a year later. As of 2011, the album has sold 3 million units worldwide wide with 2.1 million sale in the U.S. alone. The self titled debut featured five classic singles “Run It” ft. Juelz Santana (Remix fr. Bow Wow & Jermaine Dupri), “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”, “Gimme That” (Remix ft. Lil Wayne), “Poppin’” & “Say Goodbye”. The album was originally set to be titled “Young Love”, but the moniker was scrapped prior to release for being “too kiddie”.
