UPDATED: Congress Agrees on $900B Stimulus Deal, Americans to Receive $600 Payment

Congress has finally come to an agreement on a $900 billion Stimulus deal to provide a minuscule payment of $600 to struggling Americans, unemployment benefits, aid for hospitals & business, as well as vaccine distribution. American citizens are said to receive stimulus payments of $600 to adults who earn $75,000 a year & renew federal unemployment benefits at $300 per week for 11 weeks & even extended an eviction moratorium that will expire at the end of the year. The Payment Protection Program, the program that keeps citizens employed & paid, has also been revived after Sunday’s tumultuous agreement. The $900 billion deal is half of the $2.2 trillion spent in April, but is a one of the largest made in the Country’s history. The new deal will also fund $284 billion in aid to small businesses, $82B for schools, $13B for food assistance, $25B for rental services. $15B will also be funded to institutions bombarded with restrictions due to the Pandemic such as performance venues, movie theater & other cultural hotspots. Broadband access will see $7 billion in aid. There is also no official word on when the the aid will actually be provided. Those within congress claim “more help is on the way”, and perhaps it is in a lot of cases, but there are just as many citizens that can still hardly provide for themselves effectively since COVID-19 hit the U.S. . With the Pandemic seemingly endless, one can only imagine what’s in store for the country coming into the New Year. It’s been hard enough for a lot of us as is, let all just hope for the best in 2021 & beyond.
